LADDER PROJECT EXHIBITION AND AUCTION

As you know, last year, the wood students of Oregon College of Art and Craft sent quarter-scale stepladder parts, with no instructions or rules, to artist/craftspeople all over Canada and the United States. Incredible results have been coming back to Portland in all shapes and sizes. Come join us for the celebration of these creations and the launch of our online fundraising auction. Ladder pieces have been sent in from students, faculty, and such established artists as Garry Knox Bennett, Arthur Ganson, Michael Hosaluk, Stephen Hogbin and more.

Join us Saturday, February 27th, from 6pm to 10pm at Sea Change Gallery, Everett Station Lofts, 625 N.W. Everett Street, Portland, Oregon. Ladders will be available for purchase at a set price on Saturday, and thereafter will be on auction at ebay. Search “OCAC Ladder Project.”

LADDER INITIATIVE IN FULL SWING

This is our project. We busted out a bunch of kits to make these here quarter-scale step-ladders and sent them out, unsolicited of course, to a bunch of makers that we thought would do something interesting with a kit and no rules. The results will star in a fantastic fundraising auction in mid-September.

The awesome projects from these generous people have been rolling in, and there are more to come! Here's a first installment - but there will be several, we're sure. We already have three projects in that need to get photographed in the next round, by John Eric-Byers, Terry Bostwick and Brian Crane.

So enjoy the photos, kindly taken by our own Tricia Hoffman, and keep checking back for more. And a sincere thank you from us to all you makers out there devoting your time and creativity to our project.
